Alaska Greenhouse

These are great looking, sturdy hobby greenhouses which give you that wonderful sun room feel even on a cool day in Alaska.

Our greenhouses have a panel design, which bolts together, and can be installed in about 5 hours onsite. We recommend the unit be placed on a foundation like a crushed rock pad, concrete pad, landscape timbers, or a deck supplied by the customer as it will keep the unit clean and dry. It is best to figure about a foot of perimeter gravel to catch the water running off the roof, which keeps the dirt from back splashing on the siding.

The 13′ greenhouse pictured above is our most popular at $7700, this price includes delivery and assembly on your road accessible property on the westerly side of the Kenai Peninsula.

*Shelving is offered in two different depth, wide and narrow. The wide shelves are deeper and made to be installed at the window sill height. The narrow shelves are not as deep, but can be adjusted to different heights on the wall even used as a bench on which to sit.
** The treated wood foundation we offer is installed directly below the exterior walls and makes the unit easy to install without putting in a gravel pad first. Later the inside should be filled in with gravel or foam mat and gravel to make a floor which is comfortable to walk on and the benches at a good height.

****My vendors with the double wall material are sometimes sold out and in such cases, it can take some additional time to acquire.

You can always order more shelves down the road, if you decide you could use a few more. People generally prefer lots of shelves in the spring when they have their flats and garden starts in the greenhouse, but as the plant grow the shelving can get in the way. Also, it is nice to have room for furniture, a water can, or a wall you can stand a rake up against.

Alaska Greenhouse was started in 2009 and we have delivered over 130 units to date with units as far away as Kodiak Island, Ketchikan, Tok, and Fairbanks. These units can handle Alaskan snow loads and high wind locations with proper tie downs.

All the wood materials(spf) are completely stained before assembly and the bottom plates and foundation materials are pressure treated for ground contact. The clear panels are a poly-carbonate material called Suntuf marketed by Palram. Suntuf is flexible, doesn’t fade or yellow within 10 years time, and it doesn’t shatter or crack when struck, but it can be scratched.
